Clinch River Development

A developer client asked us to design dwelling types for a new site acquisition in the USA. We took our inspiration from the vernacular cabins familiar to us from westerns, and developed a single storey and a two storey house which incorporated the characteristic deep verandah and entrance, using prefabricated timber construction. The effect on this rolling site is a series of modern cabins, apparently single storey, but on steeply sloping plots allowing for split levels and pool decks. Our use of thermal predictive modelling allows us to design appropriate and responsive building solutions for site locations in any given climate, as the software provides climate data for most countries.
